This Ain't I Heart Prequels Pixar Edition - Monsters University

How is this getting a theatrical release?

Of course that's a rhetorical question. Why wouldn't Pixar put this out theatrically? It's a moneymaker, even outside of the box office. The merchandise revenue alone is worth it. Same thing with "Cars 2". People bemoan that film and talk about the hit it took critically and (somewhat) financially. But it sold shit tons of merch. And "Monsters U" will do the same business.

Unfortunately, the preview for this film exudes a certain stylistic and narrative choice that does not bold well for a quality final product. Like the spy scenario at the heart of "Cars 2", the college-based humor of this "Monsters Inc." prequel is going to leave people scratching their heads wondering why? And when I say people I mean nerds like me and anybody else who's probably sites like mine. The general public doesn't give a fuck because it's Disney/Pixar (seal of approval immediate) and kids certainly don't give a fuck because, oooo it's Sully and Mike and, ya know, they're kids.

Any way, Pixar has released four new teaser trailers simultaneously. They're all on different outlets, but they have only one slight variation, which is a line that Billy Crystal probably improvised 300 times in the span of 3 minutes and got paid $300,000 to record. I've got all of them embedded except the iTunes exclusive because I'm a nitwit and can't figure out the embed code, nor do I have the patience or inclination. If you have to find it (if you haven't seen it a dozen times by now) I'm sure you'll be able to find it on iTunes' site. It's the one with the apple on it.
